Nobody really told you how hard it was going to be to show up every day, put yourself out there and land high-quality, long-term clients so you can generate consistent income.
It's especially difficult if you don't have much (or any) experience. Or a portfolio. Or a way to generate leads. Or ... or ... or...
Yeah, it's a lot. It's not a comfortable place to be in for sure. I totally get it!
In fact, it took my husband four months to convince me to leave behind an agency position and go all in on building a freelance copywriting business of my own.
I wasn't 100% sure what would happen if I made the shift, and that makes a person like me (addicted to the comfort zone, anyone?) nervous. I hoped I'd be able to replace the income I'd made with the agency, but it seemed out of reach. Could I do that on my own? Was I capable of it?
I didn't have a business degree or professional training on how to be an entrepreneur. Being suddenly in charge of and responsible for everything was overwhelming.
Turns out, running a freelance copywriting business requires a lot more than just writing copy, and I was starting from ground zero. Guess who was now in charge of all this?
